Water's Edge Community Church

We are a missional community of ordinary Jesus followers who are radically committed to making an extraordinary difference in our world as God gives us strength, vision and courage. We want a "Christianity worth believing"--caring, compassionate, inclusive, embracing, emergent, hopeful"--for all who find themselves living at the edges.

Our mission:

To follow Jesus together with joy,
bringing good news to the poor,
and arms of embrace for ALL.

If you are interested in reclaiming:

The ancient forgotten ways,
For a new day,
In a new way;

If you feel called to:

Love God and the world in the way of Jesus--
     inclusive, embracing, affirming
     holistic, organic, connected
     sharing, caring, serving,
     missional, purposeful, hopeful

If you are passionate about:

Creation care,
Local and global justice,
Ending poverty,
Working for peace,
Deepening personal and communal spirituality,

Then come and join us at the Water's Edge!

"Reaching back and stretching forward with joy."
        ...Historic, Progressive, Emergent...

We meet every Sunday at 9:30 AM for an ancient-new emerging worship and celebration gathering at the Kid Time Discovery Experience Museum (Old Moose Lodge) 226 N. Ross Lane (corner of McAndrews and Ross Lane). The Water's Edge Community Church is not affiliated with Kid's Time, but we love kids and we have a great time. Child care is provided. Children & Adult Education Hour will take place after the service at 10:30 AM. Come join the sacred journey as we follow Jesus together with joy!

Water's Edge Adult Study meets every Sunday at10:30 AM at Kid Time. Pastor David is teaching Bible 101. Is there another more informed, more compassionate, more holistic way to read the Bible? Is there a way beyond fundamentalism? The answer is an emphatic YES! There is a way that Jews and Christians have taken for thousands of years. Come and join us as we dig deeper into the greatest collection of books every written. The books of the Bible contain the greatest stories ever told and they still have the power to change lives as the Holy Spirit connects them with our hearts and minds. The Bible was not meant to be read alone. So come and join us as we journey together. There is also a Morning Mana Bible Study, Wednesday  at 7:00 AM. We are studying the Gospel of John. Call for information. All are invited!

Water's Edge Mobilization groups, dedicated to working for justice and bringing an end to poverty, are off and running. We are committed serving the neediest of the needy and the poorest of the poor both locally and globally. We take Jesus' words with upmost seriousness when he said he came "to bring good news to the poor." That is our calling at the Water's Edge. That is why we are not putting our resources into a building. We choose to put it into people. If your looking for a country club this is not the place. We come not to be served but to serve. We are truly trying to be a "church for others." It's the way of Jesus, who said, "I came not to be served but to serve." And so we shall. Come and see. Come and join us. It really is a better way.
